Ivy's Birthday - Buenos Aires Grill

Overall - Above satisfactory
Service - Way below satisfactory
Ambience - Eh okay, minus the heat

Today (or yesterday rather) was Ivy's 23rd birthday. Amazing how fast we're aging... We went to Buenos Aires Grill to celebrate. Ivy always does love her red meat. They serve a mixed grill plate which is basically all you can eat meat. And it's a lot of meat... The best was the skirt steak, but now I'm suffering. I can't eat that much meat. The food great, the service lacking. It's very laid back and you really have to flag down people to get them to bring you stuff. I suppose it's supposed to be relaxing, but it's a bit stressful when you're hungry.

So after about 2 1/2 hrs of eating in a restaurant that was way too warm with inattentive service... we came back to our townhouse & had cake. I made a two layer chocolate cake w/ chocolate frosting. I attempted decorator's icing in the afternoon, but when I halved the recipe and failed to halve the water... well let's just say I wasn't about to use the icing. So all in all the dinner went well, a kind of quiet occasion to celebrate a birthday.

Art Therapy

A long time ago art used to relax me, so I decided to give that a shot again. I started a painting yesterday and did a sketch today. I like the kitten. I really like kittens, now if they'd only stay that size...

Anxiety

So about once a year something unexpected happens in my life which I find almost impossible to handle. I decided to go see a doctor today about my anxiety. I got an appointment with a nurse practitioner and we talked about symptoms etc. Then she prescribed that I take Vitamin B-50 complex daily and exercise at least 10-20 mins. a day outside... For the summer months that makes sense, but what about when it's raining??? Oh well I'll figure that out later. At any rate she prescribes Xanax. Seems like people have mixed feelings about this. It can be addictive. I took one today. I nearly keeled over I was so tired. I'm not sure I like it, but at the very least it did take the edge off long enough for me to relax & put things into perspective.

Hopefully I"ll never need it again. I wouldn't want to get addicted, but it was so hard to relax... I'm going to try and take the Vit B-50 and exercise maybe that will cure everything.

Waiting

I was reading comments about Exchange Update for MacOffice. I was a bit disappointed that people were expecting Outlook for the Mac. Don't get me wrong, I think Outlook is okay as a mail client, but just because Entourage isn't exactly Outlook why do people get disappointed?

At any rate I'm waiting for something to install and it's taking freaking forever... I swear it's said less than a minute for more than a minute (and no it's not on Windows)
