Okay as for the house buying, I'm convinced there is still more room in the house buying industry for another middle man. My real estate agent is great, she helps me find properties and handles a lot of the details, but I still have a lot of leg work to do. Maybe this is more just because I'm me than the nature of real estate. But after choosing the property, it seems there's a title company, mortgage broker, and all sorts of mortgage options. Surely there should be a position where you talk to this person and you say, get me the cheapest most logical option and then they return with here's the mortgage you want, here's the mortgage broker, and here's a settlement company that is reasonable and reliable.
Really my real estate buying experience hasn't been fun per se, but not horrible either. I just didn't realize there could be SO many options.
