The thing is after a while I did meet people and we were close. I didn't live by myself; I went out at least once or twice every weekend. Yet, now in Baltimore, I rarely go out. I spend most of my days inside. I'm paler than I was in Seattle despite more sun here. I wonder if it's me and not the city. I guess next year I'll figure it all out.
Posted by joann at March 7, 2005 12:05 PMWell, I think part of it is that Baltimore is a worse city than Seattle to live in, regardless of the people being closed up or not. From what I can tell, you never really feel like going out because the city has little to offer, and it's kinda scary.
Seattle has more to offer (plus it's safer), so though it's harder to make friends (according to the article), once you have them you can go out and do the fun things.
