dark roast

i think it's a ploy by coffee companies to only offer like 2-3 roasts in the morning for drip coffee. Of course the first day I get coffee in like months (probably around 2-3) it's dark roast day. ick. i'm not a fan of dark roast; it's so strong with a weird nutty flavor. i like light->med roast any day. so i compensated for the darkness by adding sugar... not at the Tully's of course, because I didn't realize it was dark roast until I had already driven away, I added it at work. I've been out of coffee practice lately so I added a bit too much sugar to compensate so now i have overly sweet dark roast coffee. maybe i'm not meant to drink coffee... the horror.

I'm housesitting in the city this weekend until next Thursday. Anyone up to anything?

Observations:
No one is awake in Redmond at 4:50 am.
No one should ever wake up before the street lights turn off in the morning.

Lesson for the day:
Pour sugar into your coffee slowly... and don't use white sugar.

probably the roasts in seattle are better... the medium roasts around here (ie. diedrich's) tend to be sour. bleh.

i think the only people awake at 4:50am are the ones that haven't gone to sleep yet.
